Brightness-Adjusting Reading Light

This project required me to design an object that would help deal with a pet peeve of mine. Because I get annoyed when I can’t read as easily due to it slowly getting dark outside, I decided to make a reading light that would automatically turn on when a certain light level in the room is reached and continue to adjust its brightness as the room gets darker or brighter.

Details

Once the light is on, the light continues to adjust its brightness level depending on how dark it is in the room (the darker it is, the brighter it gets). After a period of time, the light will flash “ALARM” in Morse code - if the button is pressed, the light stays on; if the button is not pressed, the light turns off for the night (serving as an “are you still there?” kind of function). I created this project on my own.
